Privacy policy

Your email address and password (the password is stored encrypted, and we can never see it).

Your first name, WhatsApp number and date of birth.

Your relationship status, the commitments you accept, the status requests you send and answer, your notifications, and stories you post.

Only to run KnowMyEx: showing your status to people you choose, recording commitments both people accept, enforcing the one-commitment-at-a-time rule, and keeping the community safe.

Your date of birth is used only to confirm you are 18 or older.

Your status is shown only to people you choose to share it with. Nobody can search for you.

Your phone number, email and date of birth are never shown to other people.

Your partner’s name is shown only to you and your partner, and on share cards if you choose to show names.

Stories are always shown without your name.

We never sell your data or use it for advertising.

Your data is stored with Supabase (our database provider) and the website runs on Vercel. They process it only to provide their service to us.

We may disclose data if required by Indian law or a valid legal order.

We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your closed relationships, past requests and notifications at any time from your passport, and you can delete your whole account, which erases your data.

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask to access, correct or erase your data, and withdraw your consent by deleting your account. Email us for anything you can’t do yourself in the app.

We only use what is needed to keep you logged in. No advertising or tracking cookies.

KnowMyEx is only for adults aged 18 and over. We delete accounts we find belong to anyone younger.
